Harbour Digital

How It Works

Three steps. No mystery.

The software resale business runs on markup nobody talks about. Here is exactly how we do it differently.

01

Send us what you're paying today

A renewal quote, a current invoice, or even a rough list of your licenses. That's all we need to get started. This step costs you nothing.

Cost: $0

02

We price the same products

We source through the same authorized distributors the big VARs use, find the gap between your current price and the real cost, and split those savings with you 50/50. You see our cost basis before you sign anything.

03

Switch when you're ready

For most licensing there is no waiting for a renewal date. We provision the licenses, you submit a cancellation ticket for the old arrangement, and from that point you pay our price.

Timing: any day

Worked example

What this looks like on a real renewal.

One client's annual licensing renewal, before and after moving to Harbour. Same licenses, same distributor. The only thing that changed is who was taking what.

An annual renewal, before and after

Margin disclosed

Old VAR's annual take on the account
$50,000
Harbour margin, disclosed
$25,000
Client keeps, every year
$25,000

A real renewal, anonymized. The savings repeat every year, not once.

The part nobody tells you

Incumbent pricing works in your favor here.

Incumbent reseller discount
~20%
Returned to you
half

Once a reseller holds your account, manufacturers typically give them a discount of around 20 percent to keep it. The big VARs pocket that discount.

When Harbour becomes your reseller of record, we split it with you. Your price goes down again in year two, instead of creeping up the way you've budgeted for.

That is the opposite of how this industry usually treats loyalty, and it is why our clients stay.

Support

Better response times than you're getting now.

Response: ~2 hrs

Support is the first question everyone asks, and it should be. Here is the honest answer: the support never came from your reseller in the first place. It comes from the distribution layer underneath them.

We work through distributors with dedicated service desks and two-hour response times. Compare that with calling a manufacturer's 1-800 number, or being a small account at a giant VAR where you wait two days for a callback.

You get a portal, a real escalation path, and people who answer.
