Harbour Digital

FAQ

Fair questions. Straight answers.

Q.01

Is it really the same software?
Yes. We source through the same authorized, multi-billion dollar distributors the largest resellers in the country use. The licenses, the entitlements, and the support channels are identical. The only thing that changes is the markup on the invoice.

Q.02

Do I have to wait for my renewal date to switch?
For most licensing, no. We provision your licenses, you submit a cancellation ticket for your current arrangement, and from that point you pay our price. Cloud agreements like Azure can take more planning, and we will tell you honestly when that is the case.

Q.03

Can you sell software besides Microsoft?
Yes. We source through Carahsoft and Arrow, two of the largest software distributors in the country, and we can resell anything on their line cards: security tooling, productivity software, cloud agreements, and more. Our software catalog page has a sample and links to both complete line cards. If a vendor is on either one, we can quote it.

Q.04

How does Harbour make money?
We find out what you're paying today, price the same products through our distributors, and split the savings with you 50/50. You keep half, we keep half, and you see the whole math before you sign. The big resellers commonly mark products up 40 to 100 percent and disclose nothing. We would rather make a fair margin on a client who stays for years.

Q.05

Microsoft raised prices again. Can you do anything about that?
Microsoft raised list prices roughly 11 percent in July 2026. If you buy direct or through a reseller that passes everything through, you absorbed all of it. Send us your renewal and we will price the same licenses at our disclosed margin. In many cases the markup we remove is bigger than the increase Microsoft added.

Q.06

What happens to support if I leave my current reseller?
It usually gets better. Support comes from the distribution layer, not from your reseller's brand name. Our distributors run dedicated service desks with two-hour response times, which beats waiting on a manufacturer's 1-800 line or being a small account at a giant VAR.

Q.07

Who is this a fit for?
Organizations with roughly 25 to 25,000 software seats: school districts, law firms, mid-sized companies, and fast-growing teams that started out buying direct from the manufacturer. If you have a procurement department the size of a small town, we are probably not your reseller.

Q.08

What does it cost to find out if I'm overpaying?
Nothing. Send us a renewal quote or a recent invoice and we will price the same products. If we can't beat what you're paying, we will tell you that too.

Q.09

Is Harbour Digital a certified diverse supplier?
Yes. Harbour Digital & Associates is Minority & Women-Owned, and certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). If your organization has supplier diversity goals, purchases through Harbour can count toward them.
